'La Marne'
A lusty and large plant which blooms dramatically every year. The flowers are large on fairly broad panicles with serrated petals that have a baroque look to their cut. The color hovers around lilac pink but cream and green are blended beautifully in the fresh flower heads. A very old classic from France. La Marne is the second river of Paris which feeds into the Seine at the eastern edge of the city. An equally remarkable rose was named for this river just two years before in 1915. Mouillre, 1917.
