J'aime La France! It is the epitome of antique, with the elegance and grace we associate with the 1867 Hybrid Tea Rose of the same name. Large, billowy heads of rose pink or Cambridge blue exhude another era. Though it may take a bit longer to produce a grand display than some others, usually waiting till full grown to pull the stops out, La France regularly puts on later flower heads even as a very young plant. A very early Hybrid in the history of European breeding from the Dutch hybridist, Baardse, introduced in 1915. |
