'Goliath'
An interesting feature of this plant is the very broad sepals of the sterile flowers which pucker and quilt enchantingly. These are massive and crowd into immense heads of bloom, hence the name. The plant is robust and the leaves rich, dark, glossy, dentate and very broad. There is a towering effect in the growth habit which supports many ramrod upright stems. Matthes, 1923.
