'Blauer Prinz'
Crowded inflorescences tend to blend the colors of fully developed florets with new, green buds and opening flowers of creamy green. In acid soils a lovely sky blue to lilac blue and in neutral soils reddish pink, the pointed petals much darker in tint at the edges. A long bloomer but with a tendency for the heavy bloom heads to sink into the foliage. Matthes, 1925. This German plant breeder introduced several superior mopheads which are popular to this day, including Goliath, Gartenbaudirektor Kuhnert, Heinrich Seidel and Gertrude Glahn.
