This lovely and subtle variegated Hydrangea occurred in our garden as a sport on the common variegated Hydrangea, 'Tricolor'. It carries the three leaf colors of that plant, deep green, grey-green and creamy white, plus a pale chartreuse or golden green. This fourth color appears rather randomly about the plants, and for awhile we feared it was unstable, but after four years, most of the plants we have grown from it are consistantly blessed with this refreshing tint, however randomly it is displayed. Flowers, like Mariesii's, are normally blue and white. |
